Excellent routines

You probably have noticed that when your body is loose, you play better. If any of your golf muscles is tight, chances are your swing becomes inconsistent, no matter how much concentration you put into it. So instead of buying another golf swing book, do yourself a favor and get this one. This book offers a pre-game warm-up routine, a post-game stretch routine. These two alone will help you keep those muscles loose. In addition to that you will find a number of exercises to enhance both flexibility and power.

Although I do not own any other golf fitness book, I believe some of them out there are simply re-branded regular fitness books. This one was obviously custom-written with the golfer in mind. The routines are simple and make you work on all those golf muscles, in particular those that need warmup to prevent injury (shoulders, hips). A photo and three lines of text describe each routine step, and in any doubt on how to perform a move, just watch the dvd.

Initially, I only used the warm-up routine, but now I am going back to the book and use the post-game stretching regularly. They prevent the muscles to snap back in a tighter state than they were before the game. As a result, my occasional lower back pain have reduced, and I am ready for the next game in no time.

All in all, highly recommended.

Application to Golf Too Sketchy

This is a very good fitness book. Now that I've read a couple of others on Golf Fitness, I think this one has good strengthening & stretching exercises for golfers. My chief criticism is that its applicability to different aspects of the game of golf is too sketchy for golfers who don't understand how fitness will benefit their game and their overall health and well-being. The best golf fitness book I've read is Cindy Reid's book, GET YOURSELF IN GOLF SHAPE, which I HIGHLY recommend over this one.

An EXCELLENT alternative to the hard cover

I purchased this book as a cheaper option to the hard cover. The information inside was identical and I was able to complete the assignments and follow along in class. I find paperback books easier to carry to and from class, so this was a great option for me. The pictures are in color, and the print is more than large enough to read. The paper quality is nice, and it is not too thin or brittle. I used this book for approximately 12 weeks during the summer semester of 2016 and it did not wear and tear. It was also easy to put post-its with notes inside and highlighter did not smear across the page. This is a very well written book and contains a great deal of relevant information about marketing. It is a good high level view for someone who has not been exposed to the field before. The index is separated into different sections including name, company, brand and organization. I found this especially helpful when I was writing essays assigned by my professor. There is also a very comprehensive glossary and easily searchable Table of Contents and includes a "Brief Contents" and "Contents" section that provided either a quick view of the pages or something more in depth depending on what you needed. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the marketing field.

I rented this book for an MBA class I took ...

I rented this book for an MBA class I took in this Spring. I have to say that this book is really well-written and engaging (something that can be difficult to find in a textbook). The chapters in the book tended to be very long, but since the content and voice was interesting, I did not mind. What was also helpful were the real-life company examples spread throughout the entire book.

Comprehensive and thrilling account of history of Mossad

This detailed and exciting account of the history of the Israeli secret services, including the Mossad, the Shin Beth and others less well-known to the public, should be required reading for anyone interested in the history and politics of the Middle East. It is even more relevant because its opening chapter deals with the ongoing Iranian nuclear crisis and Israel's clandestine efforts to derail and delay the Iranian nuclear program.

The book clearly benefited from detailed interviews the authors conducted with leading players, some now deceased. The authors themselves are a winning team of a well-known Israeli reporter and a veteran American correspondent (full disclosure, I was a reporter in Israel for several years in the 1980s and knew one of the authors quite well.)

Starting with the founding of Israel in 1948, the book runs through some well-known episodes such as the kidnapping of Adolf Eichmann from Argentina to stand trial in Jerusalem. But there are many other vignettes that were unknown to me -- and I consider myself something of a professional student on Middle Eastern history. There is a comprehensive account of how Israel built its own nuclear program with help from France and others. The story of how Israel managed to persuade an Egyptian Air Force pilot to defect, bringing with him his top secret Soviet plane, could be the subject of a fantastic movie all by itself. Thus, Israel became the first Western nation to acquire a Soviet MiG-21 and it was a treasure trove for U.S. intelligence.

In another chapter, the authors describe Israel's success in protecting its civilian aircraft from hijackers and bombers -- and America's refusal to imitate some of the Israeli techniques despite repeated warnings. Had our leaders listened, we may have averted 9/11.

The authors show that contrary to popular opinion, the Mossad has generally been reluctant to kill its adversaries. It preferred to threaten and deter them if possible, with assassination a last resort. But they state unequivocally that Israel has been behind the murders of several Iranian nuclear scientists in recent years.

There is also a vivid and full account of the decision to destroy a Syrian nuclear plant in 2007. I had no idea before reading this account how close the Syrians were to developing a weapon. Their graphite reactor would have gone operational and started to produce plutonium within weeks had the Israelis not taken it out in September 2007.

The Mossad and especially the Shin Beth are not perfect. They have made major blunders -- such as failing to anticipate the start of the Yom Kippur War. The Shin Beth fell victim to excessive brutality against Palestinians in the territories and mishandled the two Intifadahs. Israel has made strategic decisions, such as invading Lebanon in 1982, that produced short-term success and longer-term disaster.

But what comes across to me most vividly in this book is the resourcefulness, courage and sheer inventiveness the men and women of these services have so often displayed. Israel is still at war, surrounded by enemies who wish to destroy it. These secret services are on the front lines. Often, what they do averts greater threats through their ingenuity.

Since its early days, Israel has developed a doctrine of not relying on others for the defense of the nation. This doctrine comes out of the painful lessons learned during the Holocaust. But the Iranian crisis is testing many long-held beliefs and assumptions, confronting policy-makers and especially the Prime Minister, with one of the most agonizing decisions any Israeli leader has ever faced.

This book will make readers more aware of the stakes, the opportunities and the dangers.

Excellent book, despite some political bias and some disorganization

As an enthusiast of Israeli history, especially when involving intelligence or espionage operations, this book was a wealth of information, an unprecedented compendium from minor anecdotes to major sagas detailing the history of the Mossad, the Shin Bet, Aman--their heads, their operations, their rivalries, their politics, their offshoots and affiliates (Kidon, Sayeret Matkal, etc.), their successes, their failures, and more. While some of the stories are known legends (e.g., Osirak, Entebbe, Eli Cohen), I am quite certain that this book will contain quite a few heretofore unknown stories and details for most. There were also quite a few details (e.g., some regarding the Syrian nuclear reactor operations) that really caught me by surprise.

That said, I only have two complaints. The first is one of politics. The authors apparently take a left-of-center political position and from time to time make no effort to hide it. While most politicians in the books are simply named, many of the Likud politicians have the "right-wing" descriptor prepended to their names, as does the Likud party itself (a simple search will reveal that "right-wing" turns up twice as many times in the book as "left-wing" does). As another example, Ariel Sharon is unabashedly and overtly scorned in part of the book with a tangential anecdote that needn't have been cited and, having been cited, needn't have been done so in such a wryly opinionated way by the authors. Even references to Obama (and his not-so-subtle anti-Israel actions) seem slightly overly forgiving, excusing, and optimistic. Granted, these things are only little, random bumps in the long, generally smooth road of an enjoyable book, but they still feel unnecessary and serve as tiny unwelcome jabs reminding the reader that this book could have been just a wee bit better had it been written without those little references.

The second complaint I have is one of organization. While the stories were highly informative, interesting, and entertaining, they were also seemingly all over the place with segues or threads sometimes hard to even detect or identify. It was not written ordered chronologically, nor was it written grouped by subject. It seemed to bounce sometimes back and forth through the decades, back and forth across the different intelligence organizations, and back and forth across topics of concern to Israel. Would it have had a more identifiable sequence, I would have enjoyed it much more so.

Those two complaints notwithstanding, though, this was an excellent book and one I would recommend to just about anyone--regardless of one's position on Israel, politics, or even one's enthusiasm for historical books, as this was far from your typical, dry narrative. In fact, I read it in only a few days, not having been able to put it down for very long at a time!

Being very familiar with the history of the Israeli intelligence services, I found this book to be a trough of new, fascinating information. I highly recommend it to any one who is interested in espionage and Middle East affairs.

Book Club Pick

My husband and I have known each other for 20 years, we've been married for 13 years and we now have 3 kids. Keeping the romance alive needs more than the odd date night and books like these definitely are a must have for married couples anywhere.

Clarissa's writing style is lyrical and you know she is writing from experience which makes it richer. It was Hemingway who said "All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed" and this author definitely bled in every single poem.

My favourite poem from this collection was "Unhinged" and it is important to note that different people depending on which stage of the relationship they are in will have different favourites. In other words, there is something for everyone so give this book a chance. Seriously, just buy it for yourself or as a gift.

On a side note, this author was one of the best authors to have on a blog tour. She shared every single blog stop, left daily comments and interacted with others who had left comments as well. As the book club secretary, this was very much appreciated by myself and the other bloggers involved in her tour.

Would I recommend this read? Absolutely. This was a collection of poetry that was well-written, unique and a crucial ingredient for any marriage or relationship.

Sinfully seductive, Wickedly Wonderful

I'm not a poetry fan. Hated it in high school. Hated it even more in college. It's really something that I never thought I would enjoy until stumbling across these deliciously erotic poems by Ms. Clemens. THIS is my kind of poetry.

What is really wonderful about these poems are that they are written with sensuality and class. They are not sleazy, smutty or trashy (even though there is nothing wrong with that from time to time.) This is a book that I would not be embarrassed to have someone find in my bedroom. This is more than just nighttime/before bed reading. These poems can be read to set the mood for a romantic evening with your loved one or add spark to your relationship.

Not only is this book filled with over 70 stimulating poems, there are over 40 arousing pictures as well. So not only are you getting a sensuous audible stimulation, your getting a stirring visual stimulation as well, which hopefully will lead to phenomenal physical stimulation. (Woo Hoo!) PLEASE, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this wonderful book of poems. Turn both the bed and the lights down and prepare for an evening of erotic bliss.

Loved It

If you know me you know I love poetry. Poetry is my first love, the first thing I really started writing when I was a child. Later as an adult it developed into a way to express eroticism, a delicious delight with words.

So when I spotted this collection of erotic poetry I knew I must read it.

I was not disappointed.

Decadently erotic images woven into words grace the pages of this seductive collection.

I absolutely loved it. It was a great escape into a new world. I've been reading so much urban fantasy lately I needed something different.

Some of the poems are very simple, while some showcase multiple levels of sensual depth, many rhyme (some very tongue in cheek phrases/rhymes but they work)...the imagery is there to explore and if you're in the mood for an erotic treat indulge in this.

Some of my favorites include: Levels of Ecstasy; Shapes of Desire; Your Body, My Own; My Dream; and Euphoria Exposed.

About the Author
Ed Carson is Professor of Social Policy at the University of South Australia. He was previously Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of South Australia. He was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) in 2010 in recognition of his services to SACOSS social policy activities and in 2011 he was elected President of the Australian and New Zealand Third Sector Research Association (ANZTSR).

Lorraine Kerr is Lecturer in Social Work and Social Planning in the School of Social and Policy Studies at Flinders University. She also has experience as a social planner and in local government.

Interesting case book, but not much information

I took a course in which the 1st edition of this book was adopted. This book is designed for educating students not only from academic approach but also from practical one. The casebook even included case files. It makes the casebook very characteristic and interesting, but to achieve this object, it had to omit many materials that are included in other major casebooks. If you would like to study civil procedure in detail, you should avoid a professor who adopts this casebook. If you would like to enjoy the class filled with practical exercises, you should take a course of a professor who adopts this casebook. This book is not suitable for legal research for the same reason above.
